The First Qualifiers

We had our first qualifiers on December 9th, 2023 at Atlee High School. As a rookie team, we were eager to participate in the competition and learn more about FTC. As our team members started to arrive one by one, we had started to set up the pit given to us. We then went off to the robot inspection then the judged interview. After those two things, it was time for the pre-match qualifiers. After winning 4 out of 5 matches we placed in 2nd place on stage right. Because of this great achievement we were able to choose our alliance. We chose Bacon (#20342) as our alliance for the finals. With the help of Bacon (#20342) we were able to make it to the finals. Sadly during the finals we lost to Bot Brigade Quartic (#11534) and Double Quarter Pounders (#23928). This experience has taught us many lessons. This experience also taught us to be resilient and accept failures.

The Second Qualifiers

Our second qualifiers occurred on January 28th, 2023 in the Applied Physics Lab at John Hopkins University. This being our second qualifier, we had a little more knowledge on how to perfectly plan it out. As we all were gradually arriving, we set up our pit and got right away to scouting and the inspections. We passed both inspections and got our alliances for the qualifiers. We won 4 out of the 5 matches, landing us in 4th place overall allowing us to choose our alliance for the quarter finals. This was a double alliance qualifier so we were able to choose 2 teams. After close consideration and deep thought, we chose Mech Hawks (#5178) and The Team That Shall Not Be Named (#20257). Despite the stressful and hard quarter and semi-finals rounds, we had made it to finals and won with both teams! We are extremely grateful to those teams for leading with us. Through this we moved onto states. We had also won 1st in the connect award.
